Privacy and cookies
This page explains what personal information this website collects, what we do with it and the rights you have. It follows UK data protection law: the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who we are
This website is run by Michan Limited, trading as Business Done (company number 12740131, registered office 1 Doxford Place, NE23 6DU). In this policy, "we" means Michan Limited. We decide how the personal information described here is used, which makes us the data controller.
To ask about your information, email admin@businessdone.uk.
What we collect and why
If you get in touch
If you email, phone or message us on WhatsApp, we receive what you send us, such as your name, contact details and your message. We use it to reply to you. The law calls this a legitimate interest: we can't answer you without it.
If you book a call
The diary on this website is run by TuCalendi, an online booking service. When you book, you type your details into TuCalendi's form and they are passed to us so we can hold the call with you. TuCalendi also handles them on its own system, under its own privacy policy. We use your details to arrange and hold the call you asked for.
Visiting the website
The website is hosted by Cloudflare. To deliver the pages and protect the site from attacks, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address. Google Analytics only runs if you accept analytics cookies (see the cookies section below).
Who we share it with
- TuCalendi, if you book a call;
- Cloudflare, which hosts this website;
- Google, which provides Google Analytics (only if you accept analytics cookies) and our email;
- anyone the law requires us to tell.
We don't sell your information. Some of these providers, such as Google, may process information outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, it is protected by safeguards approved under UK data protection law.
How long we keep it
We keep emails and messages for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and to keep a record of our dealings with you. You can ask us to delete them (see your rights below).
Your rights
You have the right to:
- see a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- have it corrected or completed;
- ask us to delete it;
- ask us to restrict how we use it;
- object to us using it for our legitimate interests;
- ask for a copy in a format you can pass to someone else;
- withdraw your consent at any time where we rely on it, for example for analytics cookies.
To use any of these rights, email admin@businessdone.uk. We will reply within one calendar month. We don't make decisions about you using only automated means.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
Cookies
Cookies are small files a website saves on your phone or computer. Analytics is the only optional kind we use, and it is off unless you accept it.
What we always use
Your choice (accept or reject) is remembered in your browser's local storage, not in a cookie, so we don't ask you on every visit. It stays on your device and is not sent to us. Cloudflare, which hosts the website, may sometimes set a security cookie to tell people apart from automated traffic. This is strictly necessary to protect the site, so it doesn't need your consent.
Analytics cookies (only if you accept them)
We use Google Analytics to see how many people visit this website, how they find it and which pages they use, so we can improve it. It only runs, and only sets these cookies, if you click Accept.
- _ga (set by Google Analytics): tells visits apart, so we can count visitors rather than page views.
- _ga_KW0T1B64EZ (set by Google Analytics): keeps track of your current visit.
Google Analytics tells us which pages are visited, how people arrived (for example from a search engine or a social media post), roughly where visits come from and what type of device is used. It doesn't tell us who you are.
Changing your mind
You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. If you reject analytics cookies after accepting them, we delete the Google Analytics cookies from your device. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
